Fall Festival

The PTA Fall Festival is this Friday, October 25, from 3-6pm. All families are welcome to enjoy this evening full of games, delicious food, and the 6th Grade Haunted Hallway. Students may wear costumes, but no scary masks or anything that resembles weapons. Our PTA will sell tickets this week before and after school on Monday-Wednesday in front of the school at the pre-sale price of $.20 per ticket. Tickets will also be sold at the event for $.25. We hope to see everyone at the Fall Festival!

Red Ribbon Week (10/21-10/25)

Red Ribbon Week is next week at Juarez-Lincoln! Details about the themes for each day are below.

Monday, 10/21: Students will receive red ribbons

Tuesday, 10/22: Say ‘Boo’ to drugs. (Students will make a ghost that will be posted on the wall near the computer lab).

Wednesday, 10/23: Sock it to Drugs (crazy sock day!)

Thursday, 10/24: “I mustache you not to do drugs” (Students can wear a mustache to school.)

Friday, 10/25: Students will sign a pledge poster.

 

**Please note, Friday, 10/25 from 3-6pm is the Fall Festival! This will be a great time of games, food, and fun! Buy your tickets from the PTA soon!

2019 October Community-Connect

During the month of October, the Juarez-Lincoln Student Council is collecting cases of WATER BOTTLES to support people in need within the community. The Student Council is teaming up with 6 other schools in our district to make a positive impact! We are requesting donations of water bottle cases (ANY SIZE). Please drop off donations in your child’s classroom or the main office.

Let’s support our Student Council and make a difference for those in need!!!

Your child will bring home a conference sign up form.  Make sure to complete it and send it back your child’s teacher so that you can learn how your child is progressing in reading, writing, and math and ways you can support your child.

Here are some questions you can ask to guide your conference:

•What are my child’s strengths?
 

•What are my child’s areas of growth?
 

•What did my child struggle on on his/her last math test?
 

•What is my child’s Lexile Reading level? What is his/her reading goal? 
 

•What is my child’s DRA Reading level? What is his/her goal?

Come join us in the Juarez-Lincoln Professional Development Center to learn about how we are strive to ensure our language learners succeed.  You are invited to learn about what is happening at Juarez-Lincoln and participate in an open dialogue with the principal and guest speakers. This meeting will begin with a music performance by some Juarez-Lincoln students!

All parents are invited. Refreshments will be served.

 ELAC is an acronym for English Learner Advisory Committee. ELAC is an elected committee of parents, staff, and community members specifically designated to advise school officials on English Learner program services.
