Fitness Fun This Week

Our 4th graders will participate in swim lessons at the Border View YMCA this week.  Under the supervision of certified lifeguards and swim instructors, kids will practice their water skills four afternoons for an hour each day.

We will also have our first Walk/Bike to School Day on Thursday morning at 7:30am.  There are three meet-up spots:

  • Kostner and Kimsue
  • Twining and Arey
  • Twining and Coleman

Let’s make this a family event.  If you live too far from the school, consider parking along Twining and joining a group that is walking to school.  It’s a great way to get our bodies and minds warmed up for the day.  Parking lot congestion is also reduced!

YMCA of San Diego County:

Partner of the Year

On behalf of our entire school community, Mrs. Faddis accepted the award of YMCA of San Diego County “Partner of the Year.” The award was presented to Mrs. Faddis because of her leadership and partnerships with the YMCA and other community agencies to provide swim lessons, nature walks, structured physical education classes, and quality after school care for all students. The award is a testament of the commitment of all staff and involvement of parents to enhance the academic, social, and emotional experience for the children and families of Juarez-Lincoln students.  Pictured here are Miss Jackie from YMCA Stretch, Mrs. Faddis, and Coach Ray of the YMCA Physical Learning Activities for Youth Program.
