How to Connect on August 31

Hello JL families and caregivers,

I know we are all very excited to connect with our teachers and friends tomorrow on August 31.  School starts at 8:15am for all students. Remember, school will only be 2 hours the first week.

Kindergarten students will not log in the first day. Kindergarten teachers will call each individual family throughout the morning and afternoon.

Please check your email registered at Juarez-Lincoln for your child’s teacher assignment.

How to connect with your teacher on August 31:

  1. Visit https://www.cvesd.org/district/students and click on the purple Microsoft Teams icon. Or, click on the Microsoft Teams icon on your desktop if it has already been downloaded.
  2. Sign in using CVESD Single Sign On (SSO) using your child’s username and password:
    1. Username: <<Student Id #>>@live.cvesd.org
    2. Password:
      1. Password for Preschool – Grade 1
        • start with first & last initial (both lower case), then add student ID#, and an “=” sign at the end
        • For example, if your child’s name is Robert Frias, you would write:
          1. rf123456=
          2. Remember that the initials are BOTH LOWER CASE and remember to add the “=”sign at the end!
      2. Password for Grades 2 – 6
        • First name initial (capitalized), last name initial (lower case), birthdate
        • For example, if your child’s name is Robert Frias and he was born on January 8, 2010 (MMDDYYYY), you would write:
          1. Rf01082010
  3. Log into Teams on Monday, August 31 at or before 8:10am. Your child’s teacher will send a join request at 8:15am. That’s it!

*I highly encourage all families to practice logging in over the weekend!

Teachers will explain their schedules, routines, and give an overview of what Distance Learning will look like. We encourage all parents and caregivers to listen in, especially during week one!

Our District has also established a Parent Helpline to provide technical support with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as assistance for District-adopted online programs (i.e. Achieve 3000). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents may call if they need support with these tools and an IT team member will assist them. You may need to leave a message during peak times but please be reassured that someone will contact you as soon as possible. The parent helpline number is 619-409-6638.

Thank you and have a great first week back!

Robert Pollack, Principal
