Hello Juarez-Lincoln families.
I hope everyone is enjoying the long three-day weekend. In honor of Memorial Day, we’d like to acknowledge the courage and legacies of the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.
We are almost now at the end of the school year and in week 8 of Distance Learning! Our continued goal is to keep student learning alive and well until health officials determine that our school is safe to reopen. We will continue providing access to flexible academic opportunities to extent possible this week through Distance Learning.
What next?
There are many questions related to what learning may look like at Juarez-Lincoln next year as we strive to safely overcome the pandemic. You may be wondering when the next school year will begin. Will it begin in July? August? September? You may be wondering what school and learning will look like.
Our school district leadership is currently working with multiple stakeholders to establish guidelines in key areas so that our schools can safely reopen. Some of these areas include, school calendars, daily schedules, social-emotional wellness, safety guidelines, budget, and blended learning approaches.
As this important information becomes available, I will share it via School Messenger email and on our school website. You can visit our website and sign up for our blog at JuarezLincolnSchool.com.
Learning Packets
The CVESD has now made optional and downloadable PDF Distance Learning Packets for students in all grades. Curriculum packets may be used with/without technology. Each packet is intended to last two weeks (10 school days).

Parent Tech Helpline
Our District has also established a Parent Helpline to provide technical support with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as assistance for District-adopted online programs (i.e. Achieve 3000). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents may call if they need support with these tools and an IT team member will assist them. You may need to leave a message during peak times but please be reassured that someone will contact you as soon as possible. The parent helpline number is 619-409-6638.

Grade 6 Promotion Drive-Thru Promotion Ceremony
Due to school closures, we will not have our traditional sixth grade promotion ceremony this school year, but Juarez-Lincoln will recognize our promoting sixth grade students this year in a Drive-Thru Promotion Ceremony. The event will be on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 3:00pm. You may see some traffic on Twining Avenue and neighboring streets.
We are so proud of our sixth-grade students. Well done Eagles!
Meal Distribution
Juarez-Lincoln will continue distributing meals this week on Wednesday and Friday. District and school staff will distribute meals from 10am-12pm. Meals are intended for children between the ages of 1 to 18 and child must be present. When you pull up, please open the trunk of your vehicle and a CNS Staff will place the meal in your trunk.
As always, thank you for your partnership and support. I look forward to the day we are back on campus together.
Warm regards,
Robert Pollack, Principal
