Sunday Messenger: Week of April 20-24

April 19, 2020

Hello Juarez-Lincoln families.

I hope everyone is well.  As we overcome the current pandemic, I want to express my gratitude to all the families and staff for going above and beyond and working as partners to adapt and connect in different ways. Our goal is to keep student learning alive and well until health officials determine that our school is safe to reopen. We look forward to connecting this week through Distance Learning..

Distance Learning April 20-24, 2020

Thank you to everyone who completed the JL Distance Learning Information Form.  Your responses are helping us assess student needs within the community.

*During the next few weeks, CVESD and Juarez-Lincoln will begin distributing devices based on need.  Please make sure to let your child’s teacher know if your child needs a device. In the meantime, our teachers will continue to ensure that assignments are flexible and equitable for all students.

CVESD schools are not distributing any packets at this time. There will be more updates on packet distribution soon.

Our District has established a Parent Helpline to provide technical support with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as assistance for District-adopted online programs (i.e. Achieve 3000). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents may call if they need support with these tools and an IT team member will assist them. You may need to leave a message during peak times but please be reassured that someone will contact you as soon as possible. The parent helpline number is 619-409-6638.

Meal Distribution

The District will continue meal distribution at Juarez-Lincoln and 9 other school sites on Monday – Friday. Meal bags will contain one breakfast and one lunch servings. District and school staff will start distributing the meals at 10 am, and will stop once all bags are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Meals are intended for children between the ages of 1 to 18 and child must be present. When you pull up, please pop the trunk and CNS Staff will place the meal in your trunk.

As always, thank you for your partnership and support. I look forward to the day we are back on campus together.

Warm regards,

Robert Pollack, Principal
