A note from Dr. Faddis…
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I am transitioning into a new assignment in our District and a new, full-time principal will soon be hired at Juarez-Lincoln. As many of you know, I have been off-campus quite a bit, coordinating a large grant between our District and San Diego State University that focuses on developing high-quality educational leaders. This work is very important and is now taking me away from the school site. While I am excited about this new stage in my life, I am also very sad to leave our students and school community.
I encourage you to participate in the selection of your new principal by attending the Community Forum, which will take place next Thursday, January 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the auditorium. This forum is an opportunity for you to provide input on the qualities, skills, and experiences you would like to see in your new principal. Childcare and translation will be available. Please notify the Human Resources Office at (619) 425-9600, ext. 1340, by Wednesday, January 17, if you plan to attend the forum. You may also fax your confirmation to Laura McClendon at (619) 427-3271 or email her at: laura.mcclendon@cvesd.org.
I will continue to be at school each day until a new principal is hired, most likely in February. It has been an honor to have served as your principal and am confident that our students will continue to receive a world-class education at Juarez-Lincoln.

The CVESD Annual Speech Contest is coming up. The speech contest is for students in 4th – 6th grades. All students participate in giving a speech in their classroom and the top students from each class move forward to the school contest (February 2).
From there, one student per grade is selected to represent JL at the District Speech Contest (4th grade – Feb. 28; 5th grade – March 1; 6th grade – March 2).
See the attachment below for this years’ theme and information. More information will be going home this week.
